sports car engine


one of the fastest cars in the world is of dutch origin. the gto this donkervoort is built in lelystad and is one of the fastest cars in the world when you see the car, you will think: another donkervoort some sort of a formula 1 car, a monoposto. a long front outboard wheels, long bonnet. with seats that are placed just above the rearwheels we've seen it all but when you look closely, you will notice that it is a completely new car broader. why? because there is a complete new engine in this car

until recently, donkervoort used four cilinder engines an audi engine, which wasn't environmently friendly enough and that's why joop donkervoort went to audi and they said: we've been working together for years now using the audi engines for years, but donkervoort needs something new what can donkervoort use from audi? then audi said: joop, you're building an ã¼ber-sports car audi has an ã¼ber-sports car engine a five cilinder, which is also in the tt rs

it will give this donkervoort 380hp 380hp in a car that only weighs 695 kilo that means a specified mass of less than two kilo grams per horse power which is better than a lot of super cars, such as bugatti, koenigsegg, pagani this means donkervoort can compete with all of them. it is a true sports car, this gto five point racing belts with a centered button that when you pull it everything opens sports wheels. it has some buttons that can be used for some options

and then you're sitting on the ground that sounds good the exhaust note is really nice a couple of things about the hardware that is used in this gto you have to know that donkervoort wanted to built a car to develop a car that can function as a daily driver as well as on a circuit. a track day car. a car that you take to a circuit like professional drivers did tens of years ago back then they drove some laps, hoping they would win and after the race they would leave the circuit to drive home

placing a sticker on the sides and to make this car a daily driver donkervoort installed intelligent damping on the car when you don't want a car to lean in the corner you need to make the damping stiff it makes the car really firm when you drive quickly over a bump in a straight line, the car feels really tough and firm and that is not what you want not when you're using it as a daily driver

the damping that was installed on this gto had to feel the difference between a circuit and a normal road and that kind of damping is installed. when you drive through a corner it feels comfortable the damping is not too firm when the car takes a corner the damping won't soften but it will keep the car steady and firm that is a big difference with the donkervoorts that used to be produced. they were tough that kind of damping was stiff and less comfortable you can, when you get used to the sound, use this car as a daily driver

still, you have to know what you're doing this car goes from 0 to 100 in 2.8 seconds the other gto has 380hp en goes 270 km/h there are no electronic devices that help you. no abs, no stability control. you have to do it on your own. when you want to get to the maximum out of this gto and that is just what you want then you have to go to a circuit... yes, zandvoort it is just before we start driving, here are some more details about the gto this comes from the states, space technology

a race car for a public road like in every donkervoort, the feeling that this car gives you is indescribable it's an experience. it feels like you're the one who is pushing the coggs in the gearbox like you're manually pushing the wheels in the right direction it feels like you're the one pushing the fuel manually in the cilinders of the engine there is no other car available that you can drive on public roads that involves you so much in the driving experience still, there is some comfort left that is the amount of comfort that makes that this car operates in a wider spectrum

faster than ever, bigger and wider there is nothing left but making a bow to the company in lelystad where they build a car that can compete in speed with hyper cars the so called one million dollar cars this is driving a sportscar in its most unique shape
