(droning music) - hi there. (speaking in foreign language) this is the sixth running of the world's greatest drag race. this year, the competitionis tougher than ever, however, i think i'm driving the winner. this is the all new acura nsx. and in addition to all-wheeldrive, i've got three,

count them one, two,three electric motors. what's good about an electricmotor in a drag race? instant torque. the second i hit the gaspedal, i get all that torque at zero rpm. and then the high horsepowergasoline engine takes over. plus, i've got a quick shiftingdual clutch transmission. however, there are 11other cars that think they have a shot at crossingthat finish line first.

let's meet the competition. wearing a creamsicle inspired paint job, it's the aston martin v12vantage s with its funny shifter. there's the impressive-handlingchevy camaro 1le. there's an eye-searingyellow shelby mustang gt350r. oh, the great lookingwater-injected bmw m4 gts. the track day champ, the dodge viper acr. this has to be the bestlooking porsche of all time, a miami blue carrera s.

here's the most powerful jaguarof all time, the f-type svr. the return of the jewishracing gold amg gts. godzilla makes another appearance. there's the impressivelypowerful and ridiculously light mclaren 570s. and here's the teutonicstud, the audi r8 v10 plus. and none of them stand a chance. (engines revving) this is the world'sgreatest drag race six.

- what johnny doesn't know isthat i've gone to the office and stolen his long termdodge charger hellcat. i'm going to use it in the race. - sup bro? - hey, johnny. what are you driving? - nsx.- cool. - yeah, you? (coughing)- hellcat.

- what? - my hellcat? that's not part of best driver's car. - it has more horsepower and torque than anything here, though. - that's a good point. the only problem is that wegot 12 guys dressed like this and 13 cars. so i suggest we just cutthe slowest one here,

that being your aston martin. why are you smiling?- okay. - i just put tires on the hellcat. i'd like two weeks out of them, okay? - two minutes, maybe. (engine revving) okay, so the 707 horsepower hellcat might have the most power here,but it's a big heavy sedan. there's another car withalmost as much horsepower,

the viper acr. it has just 650 horsepower, but it weighs 1,151 fewer pounds. with a manual transmission, long gearing, and really sticky tires,the viper is a tricky car to launch properly. get it right and you're instore for a 3.3 second run to 60 miles an hour. however, at higher speeds, that big wing

creates lot of drag,and that slows it down. the mclaren doesn'thave to deal with that, and thanks to itscomputer-controlled launch control, it's a whole lot easierto get off the line. unfortunately, it givesup a hundred horsepower to the viper. then again, the 570s isthe lightest car here, and then there's the audi. the r8 is 500 poundsheavier than the mclaren,

but it has all-wheel driveto rocket off the line. plus, it's naturally aspiratedv10 screams to 9000 rpm, and it's dual clutch is oneof the quickest shifting transmissions on the planet. will that be enough toedge out the rest of these horsepower-riddled cars? hang on and find out. (dramatic bass music) alright, there's nothingreally for me to do.

just sit in my air conditionedseat, put it in drive, and fight wheel spin theentire way down the runway, because this is a big stupidsedan with 707 horsepower. - he stands no chance in thathellcat against this, the nsx. and have i mentioned how easyit is to launch this acura? super easy. - alright, five, four, three, two. (laughing) (engines humming)

- i kicked the stuffing outof jason in the hellcat. - 707 horsepower and i finishedin the back of the pack. - vietnamese coffee, who knew? - [jason] it's all over pretty quickly when you have cars this fast. the nsx's electric motorsgave it a jump off the line, but the audi blows right by on its way to a 2.6 second zero to 60. and the audi stays inthe lead the whole way,

crossing the quarter milemarker after just 10.6 seconds. if we'd kept going, the r8would get passed by the mclaren, which is less than a car length behind, but traveling almost twomiles an hour quicker. 101 feet and 6/10 behindthe audi is godzilla itself, the nissan gtr, whichcrosses the line just 16 feet before johnny and his nsx. that's right, johnny, hopeyou're enjoying fourth place. next up, the mercedesamg gts, followed closely

by the jaguar f-type svr. oh, but if you think theviper's up next, you're wrong. it's that insanelyoverachieving porsche 911 pulling an 11.5 at a 120 miles an hour. the viper is 12 feet behind the porsche. then 4/10 of a second later, here i come in a big heavy hellcat, which didn't win, but it did spin its tires long enough to beat the m4 gts by two car lengths.

the mustang shelby gt350rwas right behind the bimmer, and then in dead last place,is the chevy camaro ss 1le. that's right, the slowestcar in this group runs a 12.4 at 114.2 miles an hour, or in other words, zero to jail in 10 seconds or less. it's a good thing we'reon a closed course. can you guys see me? 'cause it feels like ihave my back to the camera. you okay?

sports car crashes

here is a sight you don't see everyday, a car flipped on ocean view boulevard in pacific grove. a sports car club from the sacramento area was pulled over for a photograph this morning, and as they were leaving an unrelated black mazda plowed into two car

that mazda ended up flipped over. here's a closer look at the car upside down. take a look at the license plate frame. hard to read, but it says quot "i'm not driving fast, i'm flying low."

the driver was transported to the hospital, but a witness tell us that she appears to be ok. that she mistakenly hit the accelerator instead of the brake and that's what caused the cras in salinas, the driver of a

honda managed to escape this accident without any injuries. that is pretty mount remarkable -- pretty remarkable. just before 1:00 this afternoon, this honda drove underneath a big rig on southbound 101 and john street. the incident tied up traffic for

more than an hour until the car could be towed. no word yet on what caused the honda to wind up underneath the

alright, now this is how you start the car first you put your foot on the brakesee that the little green light comes on the start button and you simply just push it, and its ready to go this is a really cool feature that i like especially for parking in parallelparking and things like that when you put it in reverse you can see the backup cam really comes in handy to makesure your not getting close to any cars

bison, walk back there and so if anybody gets in your way,you'll know that there's a danger and you need to stopand also another cool safety feature is when you're drivingif you get close to another car and emblem comes on the side viewmirrors and um i don't know if it will do it now,but on the side of the mirror there that little emblem come saying your close to a car and its in your blind spot and if you try to get over a little alarm will go off inside the car

its a really cool safety feature that i like about it

to the golf ball gear stick knob. anybody who loves to drive a motor car can get a lot of entertainment out of driving the golf gti anybody who's got the money will enjoythis car. the golf gti has a 2 litre petrol engine and a six-speed manual transmission. thereally good thing about this car is it brings that performance and that drive line together in a nicelyintegrated package. traditionally we've loved manual gearboxes. today's quick shifting dsg gear boxes that youcan also get in this car

have taken it to another level.they can shift faster than you can push a clutch and move a manual gear lever. the golf obviously is still a four door car so its very practical but that takes nothing away from its sporting credentials. the volkswagen golf gti is avery integrated performance package it brings everything together in a nicelyblended drivers car.

this is the most powerful rolls-royce ever made. do you need to know anything else? they've been developing this wood for 10 years. they sure took their time. it doesn't seem to be anything special. ok, it's nice to the touch. i've been told they filled in all the tiny holes to smoothen it out. ladies and gentlemen, i give you wraith. with an 'i', not wrath. the word has its roots in scotland and holds the same meaning as ghost, but that's a different rolls-royce. that one isn't bad, but this is the true automotive pornography. 2,360 kilograms of pure comfort and statement. i bet even paris hilton would feel at home in this car, but she would probably prefer to sit in the back.

whereas this is the true driver's car and the most sporty of all their models with this beauty on the bonnet. they call it the spirit of ecstasy. i can tuck her in nicely so she won't become a living room decoration. this isn't their largest model, it measures 5.3 meters in length. it only has one pair of doors, but these are probably one of the biggest ever. but they close automatically, so it's no big deal. you won't lose this car, it stands out more than a space shuttle. the front really is aristocratic and the 21 inch rims are almost twice the size of those of an opel corsa. this truly is one of the most luxurious things you can buy. it costs 262,000 eur in slovenia, vat not included. 370,000 with the included extortionate tax.

i doubt anyone will register it in slovenia. you'll notice the true luxury once you open the door. the finest materials all around, leather, aluminium, wood, all top-notch. cows which contributed the leather grazed on meadows with soft fences so it's scratch-free. it probably takes more time to stitch the dashboard than it does to make a whole mini. the wood is angled at exactly 55 degrees, practically a rolls-royce's trademark. the carpet is thicker and softer than the one in my living room. and probably more expensive, it's lamb wool. you even have a starry sky in here. i know, opel adam has stars inside, too, but you can pick your own constellation here!

the rich usually tend to drive in the back, but the wraith is a driver's car. for a very attentive driver when driving in the city, because it's huge. not only the steering wheel, which is huge by itself, but the car. it's easy to make out where the front ends due to the spirit of ecstasy, but i can only guess where the rear ends. luckily there's a bmw's camera to aid me when parking. but when the road widens, this isn't nearly as clumsy as it looks. there isn't much body roll, and considering the large mass it's very convincing. the feeling inside is a bit strange, because you can't hear the sorroundings at all. it's like being enclosed in our soundproof studio.

the air suspension is on a whole different level than anything else. it makes sense when they say it's like driving on a cloud. however, matej says the ride is a bit firmer than phantom's. i just don't get it why i have 90 percent of power available at all times. actually, i do, i keep forgetting i have 632 horsepower under the bonnet. i could burn the tires in a second, this rear-wheel drive monster only needs 4.4 seconds to hit 100 kph. that's m3 speed. the 8-speed automatic gearbox works with the gps system to predict the turns and shifts to the appropriate gear. i think it's smarter than i am. well, at least it gives me more time to enjoy the comfort and all 18 speakers.

or the acceleration! who would have thought a car the size of a house could take off so quickly. overall, it's an incredible car. an amazing vehicle which will probably stay a wraith on our roads.
